The Waynesboro First Aid Crew is seeking responsible and dependable applicants to fulfill an open Paramedic Captain (full time) position. Our system handles approximately 5,000+ calls for service annually, provides a competitive benefits package, and offers an opportunity to work under progressive protocols including whole blood administration and ventilator management. Crew Captain supervises and maintains point of contact for WFAC emergency operations and crew members, providing leadership and guidance. Candidates must possess good communications skills (written/verbal), be able to deal with patients, coworkers, and the general public in a professional and courteous manner.
Successful candidates must be able to work calmly in high stress situations, maintain effective working relationships, and be required to submit to urinalysis and federal background checks. Candidates must be able to commit to modified self-scheduled hours 96 hours per pay period [48h per week].
Interested candidates must have the following:
- Current Virginia EMS Paramedic certification
- 3 years of experience in prehospital care preferred
- Preferential for Critical Care (CC-P) or Flight Paramedic (FP-C), or be willing to obtain certification with 1 year of hire
- BLS (CPR) certification and other appropriate certifications – e.g. AHA (ACLS/PALS)
- Current EVOC Class 2
- Valid Virginia Driver’s License
- High school diploma or equivalent
